Hello friends:
I've been a Master Demonologist my whole "life" on my warlock. I currently am 11/50/0: »armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#char···eebooter
I went Demon because I really wanted the FelGuard. I love my spec, but am wondering if I am missing out on anything. So many other warlocks I see are Affliction or Destruction, but rarely a Demonologist. What is your opinion as to why this may be?
I love my FelGuard, especially for the spell buffs, but I find my self using my Void Walker more often in groups to get the armor buff. I haven't touched my Succy, FelHound or Imp in I don't know how long.
I'd respec just to try something else out, but really don't want to waste the cash if I don't have to.

Mainly PvE. Very rarely PvP.
What is "SL"? Can't think of what it stands for.

I'm surprised people don't want you to use the succubus in instances for the CC. Anyway, if you're going to be a raider you might want to respec, but if you're just going to quest and run five mans, you're fine with demonology. There's some pretty good survivability skills at the bottom of that tree.
I use my imp when raiding, except for the Maiden of Virtue fight where I use the felhunter. I use the VW when soloing and I mostly use the succubus when five manning it, though I find her less useful in heroic five mans since mobs can one shot her when they break seduce.

I never rely on seduce for CC, it's just situational.
Fortunately for warlocks, almost every heroic can utilize a warlock's skills.
Banish/enslave demons/elementals, chain fear are pretty OP in certain situations.

I was a demonlock and loved it. I respecced recently back to affliction. I miss my felguard, especially for PvP, but I don't PvP enough to really make it worthwhile. I get more DPS out of affliction without feeling like a glass cannon or wannabe mage.
Just personal opinion and playstyle tho...

i leveled form 60-70 demo without the felguard
a build i was using for a while was demonology(17/34/0) down to demonic knowledge for the spell damage buff. then dumping the rest in affliction.
Ive just recently respecd affliction,(43/7/11) and do notice an increase in my dot dps, and unstable affliction is pretty nice.( ine pve and pvp) throwing shadowbolts is fun too plus when they crit they make my dots stronger.
Things i miss, demonic sack, shorter summoning times, and the almost instant cast demon summon.
Im going to be respeccing destruction soon to see what its like.
Hve fun on your lock, and ignore the naysayers it does take some skill to play one properly!
